The Lattice · Terms of Use

Plain terms for a quiet place.

The Lattice is free to visit, listen to, and share. The work — the visualization, the writing, the code, and all 86 tracks — belongs to wxza. Anchored handshakes reference real events; the woven and ghost handshakes are art, not archive. Come in, stay as long as you like, and take the URL with you.

01Use

You may use The Lattice freely for personal, educational, and research purposes: visit it, install it as an app, export lens images for commentary or study with attribution, and link to any view — the ?lens= and ?h= URLs exist to be shared. Automated access that degrades the site for others, or attempts to disrupt it, is not permitted.

02Ownership

The Lattice — its design, code, copy, dataset weave, and its music library of 86 original tracks — is © wxza. All rights reserved. The music streams for listening within The Lattice; do not extract, redistribute, sample, or use the tracks in other work without written permission.

03What the data is

Read the methodology before treating anything here as a source. In short: 29 anchored handshakes reference real, named events; 1,600 procedural handshakes are woven texture; 14 near-misses never happened, by definition; and every future-dated pulse is probabilistic fiction. The Lattice is an artwork about the shape of contact — it is not a historical database, and nothing in it is advice.

04What you add

Handshakes you add and phantoms you burn are stored only in your own browser — they are never transmitted to us and no one else can see them. You are responsible for what you type into your own device; clearing site data removes it completely.

05No warranty

The Lattice is provided as is, without warranty of any kind — of accuracy, availability, or fitness for any purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, wxza is not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site.

06Changes

These terms may change as the lattice grows. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after a change is acceptance of it.
